Empowering Youth to Explore Critical Industries for the Future

Empowering Youth to Explore Critical Industries for the Future

Collaborating with regional governments and leading organizations to ensure a steady pipeline of talent for priority industries in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The Concept

Across the globe, a generation of students is graduating without a clear sense of who they are, what they value, or the vast range of careers available to them. To address this, Bon Education developed Bon Discovery League - a proprietary career and industry exploration program that immerses middle and high school students in the industries at the forefront of regional strategy.

By blending gamified virtual sessions, real-world industry challenges, and structured self-discovery, the program equips young people with the awareness and clarity they need to make informed decisions about their futures while ensuring governments and universities have a stronger pipeline of motivated and informed talent.

The Opportunity

Most global K-12 curricula are built around traditional core subjects, leaving career guidance fragmented and inconsistent. Students routinely leave high school without a working understanding of their own strengths and values, the breadth of professional paths available to them, or how to approach real-world industry problems. For government and university clients in the UAE and KSA, this gap represents a direct risk to national workforce strategies that depend on young people actively choosing to enter priority fields.

Our approach

Bon Education designed and built Bon Discovery League as a proprietary hybrid program purpose-built for the realities of the GCC. The program centers on live virtual industry exploration sessions, each structured around a specific industry critical to the region. Within each session, students engage through gamification, hear directly from expert guests actively working in the field, and take on an industry challenge - a hands-on task modeled on the tools and problem-solving methods professionals in that industry use day-to-day.

Between sessions, students access a dedicated digital program portal to explore each industry in greater depth, submit their challenge responses, and reflect on whether a given field resonates with their interests and ambitions. These reflections are guided by foundational self-awareness questions such as: how they want to create value in the world and what they most want to work with, whether that is numbers and data, visuals and systems, people and relationships, or chemicals and raw materials.

To date, Bon Discovery League has covered over 50 industries, ranging from Cognitive Science to Bioinformatics & Genomics to Curatorial & Museum Studies, to Nursing & Allied Health Professions, and more. Expert guests have been drawn from leading global brands and institutions including Nissan, Nestlé, Louvre Abu Dhabi, KAUST, Burjeel Hospital, Entocycle UK, PwC, Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, Sky News Arabia, Finlays, The National, the Burj Al Arab and many more. Delivered in partnership with government and university clients across the UAE and KSA, the program has reached over 5,000 students to date.
