“Better a broken bone than a broken spirit.” - Marjory Allen
“To an adult eye it may look chaotic and ugly. To a child it is just possibility.” - Claire Pugh, Manager of the Land Adventure Playground
Our physical environment, spoken and unspoken rules have a huge influence on how we behave, the choices we make and what we create. What happens when we intentionally create spaces at work, at home and on the playground that invite adventure and risk taking?
During this interstory Networking Lab, we will think about play spaces for children and adults. We will watch a 15-minute clip of a documentary on The Land (an adventure playground in Wales) and then break out into groups to discuss and debate questions around the topic of risk and adventure play.
- 20-minute welcome and documentary viewing
- 40-minute breakout discussions and debates
- 30-minute whole group discussion and networking
