Project Summary
In 2019, Bon developed a series of youth workshops for Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to raise awareness about and participation in DEWA’s Conservation Award, which DEWA gives to select schools and principals as a reward for reducing energy and water usage.
Bon created workshop facilitator guides, presentation notes, PowerPoint presentations and teacher resources for three different age groups (elementary, middle and high school) to educate students about the importance of conservation.
Bon trained DEWA staff to deliver presentations to students of any age. In addition, teachers have access to activities that they can do with their students to continue exploring energy and water efficiency. All materials are available in English and Arabic.
Results
- "Program in a box" developed for DEWA, including all workshop facilitator guides, presentations and toolkits (English/Arabic)
- DEWA staff trained to deliver program
- Program scaled to reach hundreds of private and government schools within the Emirate of Dubai
