The Concept
In the drive toward national economic resilience, moving youth from financial awareness to actual behavioral change is a critical challenge. Bon Education worked with a major regional bank and Ministry of Education in the GCC to create a nationwide financial wellness program. By utilizing engaging classroom-based and gamified learning, the program empowers students with essential social responsibility and financial skills while positioning the client as a leader in financial education and CSR.

The Opportunity
Traditional financial literacy programs often struggle with three hurdles: lack of student engagement, poor alignment to regional culture and the inability to scale across a national school system. The client required a solution that would not only inspire GCC youth to adopt a financial wellness mindset but also create a seamless integration between corporate leadership and public sector educational infrastructure without expanding the operational footprint of the bank.
Our approach
Bon Education worked closely with the client to build a financial literacy program for middle school students centered around regional culture and the principles of Islamic finance.
Following a thorough client and issue immersion phase, our team developed a bespoke financial literacy curriculum designed for delivery by teachers in government schools across the client country. To ensure meaningful integration within the existing educational framework, all materials were carefully aligned to national curriculum standards and age-appropriate developmental benchmarks. The curriculum included a digital game and web application, structured lesson plans, comprehensive teacher resources, and student workbooks.
The program underwent a rigorous approval process involving the client bank and the Ministry of Education. We then designed and implemented a train-the-trainer model, equipping 55 Ministry of Education officials in Arabic to cascade the program to teachers in government middle schools nationwide.
In its first year, the program reached over 20,000 young people across the country.
